La poesía en lengua yaqui (hablada en parte del norte de México) tiene integrantes notables, aqui uno de ellos: Santos García Wikit, (Belem, 1910-2007). Esta es una de las poesías mas conocidas:

Túsi obiachi henchi wáata bétichivo
Ïi júnen taka juni née henchi wáata,
Henchi née huata káa nokimmea,
Káa henchi ten liutáka, káa ét mammakái,
Kía née henchi wàata
Henchí née ine-a káa henchí jippuekái,
Síime bél-leekataná née henchí wéiya,
